Dental Cleanings:

Our hygiene department provides cleanings, x-rays, oral hygiene instruction and periodontal evaluations.

Upon your first hygiene visit, Dr. Lueth, Dr. Schmitt and our staff will provide you with a complete evaluation and make recommendations regarding the best type of cleaning based on their findings.  They will document existing restorations, check the health of your bone levels and take x-rays to determine the best treatment plan for you.  They will also discuss with you the frequency of which you should have your teeth cleaned and checked.  In most cases, our hygienist will be able to complete your cleaning at your first visit.

Sometimes, a patient will need a more extensive cleaning due to the amount of calculus deposited on the teeth - above the gum line and below the gum line.  This often correlates to a greater length of time between their dental cleanings.   Our hygienists are trained to perform scale/root planing for patient.
